📊

Score Gap Report

A short diagnostic turns uncertainty into section level, weak spots and a first 7-day action plan before you commit to a full prep block.

🗓️

30-Day EPSO Readiness Sprint

Included in Advanced and All-In: what to practise each day, why it matters, and when to take mocks instead of adding random volume.

🧪

First full mock + report

Run one complete mock to see whether timing, ranking tests and eliminatory sections are actually holding together.

✍️

EUFTE writing coach

Advanced/All-In turn each EUFTE attempt into feedback on structure, clarity, EU context, register and the rewrite focus for the next attempt.

How serious candidates are preparing now

Not with vague reading plans or random quizzes. The stronger routine is visible: diagnose, train timed, review mistakes, and repeat with feedback.

1️⃣

They start with a baseline

A diagnostic shows which sections are already stable and which ones need work before more study time gets wasted.

⏱️

They train under time pressure

Reasoning speed, EU Knowledge recall and EUFTE structure all need realistic timing, not just passive reading.

🔁

They review the mistakes

The advantage compounds when every wrong answer becomes the next correction block instead of a forgotten result.

They avoid practising blind

If you practise outside a feedback loop, you may be giving an advantage to candidates already training with one.

Pass EPSO is built around that modern preparation loop: diagnostic → weak spots → timed sessions → feedback → next plan.

Pass EPSO · EU Institutions
Q7 of 20
02:34
EU Institutions
Which institution has the exclusive right to propose new EU legislation?
AEuropean Parliament
BEuropean Commission
CCouncil of the European Union
DEuropean Council
Correct! The European Commission holds the exclusive "right of initiative." It's the only institution that can formally propose new legislation. Parliament and Council can request the Commission to submit a proposal, but can't initiate legislation themselves. This trips up ~40% of AD5 candidates.

AI recommendation: 4/5 EU Institutions correct. Move to Budgetary Procedures next.

Real Experiences from Real Preparation

Candidates preparing for the AD5 2026 competition share their experience with Pass EPSO.

★★★★★

"I tried three other platforms before this one. The difference is night and day — the spaced repetition actually works. After two weeks I could feel my weak spots getting stronger instead of just repeating the same mistakes."

M
Maria K.
Policy analyst, Brussels
★★★★★

"EUR 99 for everything? I spent over EUR 400 on an academy last cycle and got a PDF and two live sessions. This has 1,500 questions with actual explanations, exam simulations, and it keeps getting updated. Absurd value."

T
Thomas R.
Contract agent, Luxembourg
★★★★★

"The exam simulation mode is what sold me. Same format, same time pressure, same scoring. I finally know what to expect on exam day instead of just guessing. The abstract reasoning section is especially well done."

S
Sofia P.
Translator, Madrid
★★★★★

"I do 20 minutes on the train every morning. The adaptive system remembers exactly where I left off and what I need to practice. It's like having a tutor that knows my schedule and my weaknesses."

L
Lukas W.
EU affairs consultant, Berlin
★★★★★

"Being able to practice in my own language made a huge difference. The EU Knowledge podcasts are brilliant — I listen to them while cooking and it actually sticks. Way better than reading endless PDFs."

A
Anna V.
Civil servant, Bucharest
★★★★★

"What I appreciate most is that new questions keep appearing. Other platforms give you a fixed bank and that's it. Here I can see the content growing every week. Feels like the team actually cares."

Researcher, Athens

Real Questions from Real Candidates

Sourced from recent EPSO preparation webinars and candidate communities. We keep these updated.

When are the AD5 2026 exams expected?

EPSO/AD/427/26 (AD5 2026, 1,490 places): EPSO's latest schedule update says Part 1 (verbal, numerical and abstract reasoning) is expected in October/November 2026. Candidates who pass Part 1 are expected to be invited to Part 2 in 2027 for EU Knowledge, Digital Skills and the EUFTE. Supporting documents are due 7 October 2026.

How many hours per day should I study?

There's no magic number, but consistency beats marathon sessions. Most successful candidates do 1-2 hours of focused daily practice over several months. Pass EPSO is designed for micro-sessions that fit around a full-time job: 10 minutes on the commute, 20 minutes at lunch, a podcast episode before bed. The AI optimizes every minute by focusing on your actual weak spots, not material you already know.

Do I need professional experience for AD5?

No. The AD5 Generalist competition requires only a completed university degree (at least 3 years). No professional experience is needed to apply or pass the tests. However, once you're on the reserve list, recruitment panels do consider experience during interviews for specific vacancies. Young graduates have been selected in past competitions. Focus on maximizing your test scores first; Pass EPSO helps you train the full AD5 format with timing, feedback and repetition.

What is TAO and how do I prepare for the online test?

TAO is EPSO's online testing platform where you'll take the actual exams. It runs in your browser with specific requirements: stable internet, full-screen mode, and a webcam. EPSO publishes detailed instructions (check their official guide). The best preparation is to practice under similar conditions. Pass EPSO's timed exam simulations replicate the real format: same question types, same time pressure, same pass/fail thresholds, so the TAO environment feels familiar on exam day.

DigComp 2.2 or 3.0 for the digital skills test?

The AD5 Notice of Competition references DigComp 2.2. Stick to that version. Pass EPSO includes 120+ digital skills questions mapped to all 5 DigComp 2.2 competence areas: Information & Data Literacy, Communication & Collaboration, Digital Content Creation, Safety, and Problem Solving. This is one of the newest EPSO exam components, and many traditional preparation providers barely cover it. We do, in all 24 languages.

What is the EUFTE writing test and how can I practice?

The EUFTE (EU Field-related Test in Essay format) is a 40-minute written exercise. You receive a background document about two weeks before the exam and write a structured response on exam day (briefing note, policy summary, or analytical report). Pass EPSO offers realistic EUFTE simulations with AI-powered assessment against the 5 official EPSO evaluation criteria, giving you immediate feedback instead of waiting days for a human reviewer.

Should I focus on practice or theory?

Both, depending on the section. For reasoning (verbal, numerical, abstract), timed practice is key because the exam tests speed and technique. For EU Knowledge, you need to study the 13 official reference documents. Pass EPSO covers both: adaptive practice tests that sharpen your exam technique, plus EU Knowledge audio podcasts that cover the official EPSO source material, perfect for learning during your commute or while cooking.

Can I apply for CAST or FG competitions at the same time?

Yes. You can participate in multiple EPSO competitions simultaneously. Many candidates apply for AD5, CAST, and FG IV at the same time. The preparation overlaps significantly for reasoning skills. Pass EPSO's verbal, numerical, and abstract reasoning modules work for all these competitions, not just AD5, so your preparation investment pays off across multiple opportunities.
